Thank You

Now that I am officially in the 50's club I would like to say thank you to a couple of people for making my birthday celebrations special.

Thank you firstly to Neil and Robert who hosted my first dinner celebration two weeks ago - it was a great evening and memorable and then a big thank you to Caroline for hosting my dinner party before leaving London - again a great night that will not be forgotten.

Thank you all who sent cards and emails etc.

The gifts are fantastic and include Jo Malone, Abercombe, Leather Goods, Champagne and Flowers etc and a large amount of cash from several friends that I will put to good use over coming weeks,

It only remains to thank JB for all the hard work yesterday that went in to ensuring I had a great day - it was perfection personified from when I got up at 0700 until bed at 2330 - you are one in a million - thank you from the heart.

Birthday Message - 1st June 2012

Well the day has arrived of my 50th Birthday (London Time) and no better way to spend it than in the Caribbean with that someone special in my life.

The first 49 years of my life have been wonderful and memorable in many ways - over the years I have made some fantastic friends who's friendship I cherish - it would be wrong to pick names out but you all know you are special in your own way.

At this time of celebration I will raise a glass to family and friends who are no longer with us and remember them with fondness.

Would I change anything in my life - no - life is what we make it and we only have one shot at it so I have enjoyed it - I am not perfect but life is not for regrets and like to think I have got wiser as I have got older !

I am particularly indebted to JB who has shown unconditional love and affection over the last 24 years and I am so proud of what we have together.

It only remains for me to THANK YOU ALL for being in my life today and I look forward to our continued friendship in the years ahead.

All my love from the heart.

Punta Cana Lifestyle

It's a hard life in Punta Cana - arrived Friday afternoon around 1600 - checked in to our Panoramic Ocean View Suite that is magnificent - the bed looks out straight to the ocean and has a terrace that you could get lost on - suite also has two Jacuzzis we are upgraded to Gold Wristbands and this is VIP service - best of everything - Friday we went to Buffet Restaurant and last night the Mexican and tonight The Steak House.

The weather is fantastic - yesterday chilled on the beach and today spent the day at the Spa - luxury all the way.

Last night went to the nightclub after the theatre - it was great as have private VIP area upstairs away from the masses but still part of fun.

This is truly paradise - if you want Champagne and Lobster you have it - drinks all branded not local spirits and nothing is to much trouble - good when you are entering your 50th year!!!!!

Harrys Bar

I had a great afternoon/evening yesterday at a Birthday Dinner hosted by my dear friends Caroline and Nina at Harry's Bar in Abchurch Yard in the City, prior to Dinner we had some lovely cocktails in a near by cocktail bar.

It was an excellent meal with nice wine and excellent company - would recommend the restaurant.

In the photograph below that was taken in the roof gardens at Jairo's office you can see Tower Bridge in the background and The Shard on the right of the photograph.

Thank you ladies and see you in the summer.

Olympic Torch Bearer - William Who ?

What was William doing carrying the torch considering he is not even British - what he is though is a buffoon of the first order.

Apparently he was selected by a corporate sponsor of the Olympics - even more controversial but then the Olympics have been controversial from day one.

The country has a large number of nationals who would have loved the honour and do it with pride instead of like this buffoon showing disrespect by tweeting on his way.

Chelsea Flower Show 2012

It was refreshing to see that the Chelsea Pensioners had a very active role in this years show - the Chelsea Pensioners are iconic and very much part of Chelsea and London's Heritage - well done to Diarmuid Gavin for creating such a outstanding display and for including the ex-service personnel.
